Customize the glow
Choose one of the color swatches or use the rainbow swatch for a custom hue. Open the sliders button for light intensity, reflections, time format, seconds, and digit transitions. Settings are saved on your device.
Use focus mode
Tap or click the clock to enter or leave focus mode. Pinch to resize it, or use the Clock size slider in settings. On Mac, ⌘⇧F toggles focus mode, Escape exits it, and ⌘, opens settings.
Add a widget
Launch Neon once after installing it. On iPhone or iPad, touch and hold the Home Screen, choose Edit → Add Widget, and search for Neon. On Mac, right-click the desktop and choose Edit Widgets. Select the small or medium size.
Touch and hold or right-click a widget, then choose Edit Widget to set its color and 12- or 24-hour time format. Widgets keep their own settings. The operating system manages refresh timing, so widget updates may occasionally be delayed.
HDR and screen brightness
HDR highlights are optional and off by default. Their brightness depends on your display and its available headroom. Neon does not change system brightness. If you prefer a softer glow, disable HDR or lower light intensity.
Keep the clock visible
Keep screen awake applies while Neon is active. Your normal screen timeout returns when you leave the app. Neon shows the system time and time zone; it does not provide alarms.
Compatibility
Neon requires iOS or iPadOS 17 or later, or macOS 14 or later. The Mac app supports Apple silicon and Intel.
